Bluebeard was formed in the
early-1970s by Vincent Bitetti,
Vincent Thomas-Penny, Gayle Hart,
Danny Bogan and Barry Leech.
Although their line-up changed
slightly over the years, Barry Leech
was always central to the group’s
persona and creative vision. His
tragic death in 2004 created a
catalyst from which the band found
new meaning and a singular focus to
once and for all bring their
signature brand of classic rock to
the world. All of their music is
dedicated to the memory—and last
wishes—of Barry Leech. In mid 2004,
producer and former Illinois-based
One-Eyed Jacks bassist and
keyboardist Barry Fasman was
recruited for lead production
duties, as well as keyboards and
vocals. Former Siddhartha front man
and longtime friend of the band,
Elington Erin stepped in to handle
vocal duties and completed the new
line up. Since the music of
Bluebeard has been described as
having elements of hard rock, art
rock, and progressive rock—they
needed the firepower that Fasman and
Erin bring to the table to complete
the signature Bluebeard sound—a
powerful combination of classic
rock’s past, present and future.
Brian Barnum (who played with Barry
Leech in the early '90's), replaced
Vincent-Thomas Penny in June of 2006
- keeping the dual lead guitar sound
intact. Bluebeard 2006 is: Vincent
Bitetti Brian Barnum Barry Fasman
Daniel Bogan Gayle Hart Elington
Erin.
